Lighting a Landmark: Meeting an Extraordinary Challenge
Designing a lighting solution for a structure of this scale presented significant technical challenges. The lighting system needed to illuminate the entire 201.8-meter pole and a massive national flag measuring 60×40 meters (3,240 m² and weighing around 500 kg) — all from a 30-meter-high mast-mounted lighting fixture. Achieving uniform, stable, and dignified illumination across this height demanded precision optics and powerful, high-efficiency luminaires.
TFB Lighting collaborated closely with the project team to optimize the design of the 30-meter pole-mounted fixtures, enhancing light projection, minimizing glare, and ensuring maximum visual impact. Special attention was given to beam angle control, color temperature range, heat dissipation, and weather resistance — ensuring reliable performance even in Egypt’s harsh desert climate.
