As China’s first professional award focused on the intersection of bio-optics and AgriTech, it is hosted by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd., with strong support from key national agricultural laboratories and top academic institutions.

As the official accolade of GILE, the world’s largest lighting exhibition, the Alighting Award has, over the past 12 years, evolved into one of the most authoritative and internationally influential honors in the lighting industry. With its mission to set industry benchmarks and define future directions for lighting products and technologies worldwide, the award continues to shape the global lighting landscape.

In 2025, the 13th Alighting Award will focus on green, low-carbon, and intelligent connectivity, aligning with global energy transitions and smart city initiatives. Building on its high standards and rigorous criteria, this year’s award introduces an enhanced judging system, inviting emerging designers and senior electrical engineers to strengthen the professional breadth of the jury.

The 2025 edition attracted 1,059 organizations and individuals, submitting 1,371 projects. The National Excellent Lighting Awards were evaluated through public voting and project roadshows, resulting in 135 shortlisted Lighting Product Awards, 59 shortlisted Lighting Engineering Awards, 86 shortlisted Lighting Design Awards and 41 shortlisted Dawn Awards for Emerging Designers.

Additionally, the Regional Excellence Awards, aimed at fostering local innovation, were supported by 21 partner institutions. A total of 197 projects were recommended, with 119 accepted for review, ultimately resulting in 59 regional winners selected through strict evaluation criteria.
