The launch of the GILE Smart AgriTech Lighting Award marks a significant milestone in GILE’s ongoing “Light+” strategy, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to accelerate innovation in smart agriculture. As China’s first professional award focused on the intersection of bio-optics and AgriTech, it is hosted by Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co., Ltd., with strong support from key national agricultural laboratories and top academic institutions.
Jointly supported by the Northeast Smart Agriculture Lab and Northwest Protected Horticulture Lab (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs), USTC Department of Optics, Hunan Optical Agriculture Center, Shanxi Agricultural University Tomato Industry Institute, and Guangdong Ocean University, the award recognizes groundbreaking achievements in Spectral technology for crop cultivation, Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), Intelligent facility agriculture, Aquaculture lighting and Photonic pest control.
The award features three categories: Excellence Award, Innovation Award, and Application Award, covering open-field farming, smart facility agriculture, livestock and aquaculture, and even medical beauty and wellness applications.
By bridging research, enterprise, and practical deployment, the GILE Smart AgriTech Lighting Award symbolizes a new era of integrated academic-industrial progress in China’s agricultural innovation ecosystem. It aims to promote high-quality, cost-effective, and eco-friendly agricultural development, injecting strong momentum into the modernization and sustainability of agriculture.
